Reporting another problem - for a few hours

    jtablesession::Store Failed
DB function failed with error number 1062
    Duplicate entry '1-' for key 'whosonline' SQL=INSERT INTO os_session ( Session_id,Time,Username,Gid,Guest,Client_id ) VALUES (
    'b8jcigs0rqtpejn512mk3pkps7','1404180183','','0','1','0' )

The number starting with 1404... looks like the seconds since 1970-01-01 00:00:00 UTC when the error occured - especially since it had incremented on every subsequent attempt to logon...

The current forum is nicely integrated in the Clearfoundation site but I rather have a less polished forum when speeds get better of the forums. Also a irritating thing if you put some output from the command shell in a code box you always have to scroll to see everything. So i'm also looking forward to new forum software.

    Hi Peter,

Good to hear this will have a change.
I like the forum software vBulletin because is also has a nice layout for tablets. Since a lot of people (including me) uaring using a tablet or a smartphone this looks to me a nice to have feature.

Logitech is using this for example. Logitec forum

We've had it with the performance of the forums and are now actively looking at alternatives. 400 database queries to load the main forum page is just ridiculous! The blog software is also broken and the URL rewrite engine (sh404SEF) is a horror show. Other bits of ClearFoundation infrastructure are okay (though the translation server is sluggish too):

    - Translation: http://translate.clearcenter.com
    - Build system: http://buildsys.clearfoundation.com/
    - Issue Tracker: http://tracker.clearfoundation.com/
    - SVN/CVS: scm.clearfoundation.com

Our mirror system is well designed to get updates out quickly, but it suffers from two weaknesses:

    - If an update fails high up on the mirror hierarchy, the mirrors further down the line are marked as "offline". This increases the load on the higher mirrors which in turn might get overloaded and taken offline. Aaaaand death spiral. That's exactly what happened a few days ago.

    - For most mirrors, all you need is rsync and cron. ClearFoundation's mirrors are more complex to configure and it has been hard to convince potential mirror hosts to bit the bullet.

The team fixed a couple of things - should be back to normal, although you'll need to run 'yum clean all' again to refresh the mirror list :)

If it's still slow please post the first section of yum output after 'determining fastest mirrors'
