Support know the answer and don't want to give it. ClearOS is out of date and has had no updates for over a year. It currently has a number of critical security vulnerabilities. You will need a kernel update rolled into the iso to be able to use the latest processors. Since Clearcenter aren't doing any updates from upstream you are out of luck.

    That's NOT good!

My renewal is due November and from what am seeing things a looking a bit rocky with clear .

Am really needing a new server as skipped last time in the end but not seeing any mention of a new updated release leaves my a little apprehensive on whether to renew now.
Servers still on the 3.xxx kernel! Desktop poped up yesterday to offer me Kernel 6.5
Have been using clear since the clarkconnect days will be sad if it is slipping away

I am assuming you have a PPPoE connection? If so, please try adding the following line to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ppp0 and any other ifcfg-pppX files:Saving the file will force the interface reset and start with the new configuration. If that works, to make it permanent, add a linesomewhere between line 1646 and 1668 to /usr/clearos/apps/network/libraries/Iface.php so the section reads something like:The line can be put just about anywhere in the block.

This solved my situation too Nick.

Had 900mbps Fibre installed yesterday and was only getting 250ih through ClearOS. With your fix now at 840ish :D

Sorry, I did not take in your lines fully. You've dropped the "-i your_WAN_interface" from the command so it will block everything so either:

    Sorry Nick, Thought I'd replied!

Yes that works a treat. Thanks for that. :D

Better late than never I suppose ....

There is no point in using the multiport switch if you are not specifying ports. You could simplify to a single rule:

    [edit]
but it is arguably naughty as it blocks pings. You could try:
    [/edit]

Well that dont work as it blocks everything, including LAN

Think I'll just leave it as is.

  • Ironically I was looking at their Gen 10 Opteron based servers but really want an 8 core ryzen version. I may just go the ITX route and keep my existing NAS case.

    I'm currently rocking a duel core G3220 with 4GB MEM, :o

In dire need of an upgrade !

The Qnap ryzen based systems are interesting but a bit stupidly priced I feel.

I've now put it into a proper Howto in the Knowledgebase

@John, it looks like my script has moved on a bit from when I posted. MAXELEM is now parameterised. This is a trivial change and you don't need it. I've also set it to e-mail me if the update fails.

Also writing it up has shown a stupidity in my firewall rules. You can remove:from the firewall rules. This should have been replaced by:And not supplemented with it.

Sorry to be a pain but what is the rule to block all traffic except from what's enabled within the country list?

    Would the following work ?

  • Cheers for that Nick, I did reply earlier but lost it when I hit accept your answer :o

Any way, I did try to find out what's been back ported but like you said it's not easy.

However, Good news for prospective Ryzen server owners!

I've just installed ClearOS on a spare SSD on my own system (3900x X570 board)

And every thing works :o ethnet ports/USB3 ect. All NVME/SSD drives detected fine. Even my Vega VII GFX card was deteted and used the AMDGPU module.

Also , the install took a minute and a half :D Ok minimum install I admit ;)

Am now off to price up a suitable system. I really fancy a duel 64 core Eypc Rome Monster but........

    Regards.

  • ClearOS with AMD ryzen/Eypc Procesors/servers

Whats the hardware support regards AMDs Zen arch ?

I know clear is using the 3.10 kernel which leads me to think that AMDs CPU's/Chip sets wont work with ClearOS :(
