Lately, ClearOS keeps asking us to register to get access to Marketplace. It was registered before. Why is it asking?

Plus, it is forcing us to select subscription - 30 day evaluation basic, 30 day evaluation Essential or Purchase Subscription. I don't understand. So, we have to purchase subscription every year even though we've already paid for the ClearOS copy we are using. In fact, we have credit card on file and it is being charged yearly. I checked with our Accountant and he confirmed that ClearFoundation has been charging our company credit card. The last payment was Last month or January.

Any help or hints will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

The only updates are antimalware and antispam signatures.
Further more there is no support or updates since a year or so.
Also will COS 7 EOL in june since it is based Centos 7

If you read some posts on the forum you will see the discussion on support and updates
Paying your subscription will have no added value at this moment to my opinion

Again, have you ever registered your server? ClearOS is affiliated with ClearFoundation, although it's not a supported distro anymore. You can login to your account at here and see your system details and subscription(s). They haven't shut any of that down, even though they're no longer supporting the distro. It's up to you if you want to maintain a subscription that's no longer maintained by the distro. I walked away from it because of the latter. I keep revisiting the forum to keep tabs on it. It was always a great package. Maybe it will be again some day.

Pretty sure you have to maintain a subscription to access the marketplace and antimalware definition updates, if you're a business. I'm not so sure about the community edition since I haven't used that in a while. I don't think COS is maintaining updates though, so I don't know if it's worth maintaining a subscription. Have you tried registering your system under the Webconfig>System>Settings>System Registration?

    Hi Dirk,

Well, I understand you have to pay for updates, but then why is clearfoundation charging our credit card yearly and our ClearOS asking to be registered? Aren't those charges for updates and/or upgrades? Isn't ClearOS part of ClearFoundation? Are they two different entities? I am confused. I am telling our accountant what I am seeing and what ClearOS is asking for to register our ClearOS server and he is pointing at all the credit card charges since 2018 by ClearFoundation. How do I resolve this and/or get in touch with ClearFoundation?
