Hi, this is all new to me, I have a server, we changes Internet service providers which changed our IP address so when we did it disconnected everyone from the server. (the person that use to do this for us is no longer with us) So, I went into the address given to me and got to the server and changed the IP, and subnet mask to what I was given.
Problem is I can't get to it anymore. I can go to the server and login but from my pc I can't type in the old ip number with :81 and get to clears login screen anymore. Or connect to the network.
Maybe someone can just direct me to file to read if need be.
Thanks for any help.
Ben

What happened? Can you try restarting the Webconfig from the console "service webconfig restart"?
Can you ping the gateway? Can you ping 8.8.8.8 as well?
Please can you install PuTTy and WinSCP on a PC and see if you can get them to connect to ClearOS. (WinSCP with SFTP protocol on port 22, PuTTy also on port 22) -

So the ClearOS LAN IP is 192.168.2.254? Please can you confirm this? If so the DHCP server is working. Are you using https and not http and port 81 when trying to connect to the webconfig? Try clicking on this link. Does it take you to the webconfig? -

I do know I can ping the ip address of the server, but when windows checks for the name \\alanizdc\ its says its doesn't find it.
On the server the names with external is alnanizdc
From my computer I use to be able to type in the IP address with a :81 and log into Clear OS, can't do that anymore.
Let me know if i'm putting to much info out here, that may also open up my server to attack? -

"ipconfig" is a command that you would run from a command prompt on a PC. I'd like to see what appears on screen when you run it.
What is the ClearOS LAN IP (from the console)?
PuTTy is a (free) program you can run on a PC to create an ssh session on the PC to connect to ClearOS. Similarly WinSCP is a (free) graphical file manager you can run from a PC to browse the files on ClearOS, however both programs rely on you being able to make a connection to ClearOS. -

I don't like it that you still see the correct LAN address. On your PC, what is the output of "ipconfig" for your LAN adaptor or even "ipconfig /all" (just for the LAN adaptor).
Can you ssh into the server (perhaps with PuTTy)?
I also am wondering if the firewall has gone into panic mode, but I think that leaves the webconfig working.
Please can you confirm if you are on ClearOS 6.x or 5.x? -

Possibly the best thing to do at this point is to log directly onto the ClearOS console. From there you can get to the basic network settings and change them if needed. Do you know what they were before you made the change? Do you know which interface in ClearOS is the LAN inerface and which is the WAN interface?
For your ISP you should only have been changing the WAN/External interface settings. The LAN settings should have remained unchanged.
Which IP address were you using to access ClearOS? (If it is a LAN IP address it should be safe to publish). -
