Quite some time ago I attempted to install some open source firmware for my Linkstation NAS, and I bricked it. I tried to un-brick it without much luck.
That said, I'd like to find a way to cut down on the power draw that my current ClearOS gateway is running, while keeping the basic services that I'm using up and running for a small network.
What I want is a quiet and tiny little box on steroids with a "Hulk" attitude and under $300. (If possible)
I'm wondering what people have for minimalist set-ups with Clear OS.

I have been doing this since CC 3.x (with several other similar and donated systems), but I must add that I will upgrade my hardware soon.
Not because it doesn't work well enough, but because I want to expand my on-line services and I have a faster choice that comes available pretty soon:
