Hello there,
I followed the instructions that i found on this video and this video and the shoutcast server is running fine on my ClearOS.
Steps
1. Create a folder
mkdir shout
2. Got to this folder
cd shout
3. Download the shoutcast server
Go to shoucast website and get the right address of the shoutcast server. I choose the 1.9.8 which is the lastest stable version.
wget http://yp.shoutcast.com/downloads/sc1-9-8/sc_serv_1.9.8_Linux.tar.gz
4. "Unzip" the downloaded file
tar -zxvf sc1-9-8/sc_serv_1.9.8_Linux.tar.gz
5. Edit shoutcast server's config file
nano sc_serv.conf
6. Run shoucast server
nohup ./sc_serv nameofconfigurationfile.conf > /dev/null/ &
Thats what i tryied and it works fine.
I should add that you are going to need to open the propper ports depending on your configuration to make it visible. Also if you need to run multiple instances of the server you have to create more config files and run them as the step 6. Remember to change the listen port in each config file.
Now my question is how can i make each individual shoutcast server and config file to start at boot? -

I had a quick look at the documentation and could see nothing that would prevent you from installing this on a ClearOS system. However, you do require to be proficient at the command line and know how to use various Linux tools and set up multiple configuration files from the instructions provided. Not recommended for a beginner.
Although I downloaded the two required sections (sc_serv and sc_trans) to extract the extensive documentation, I did not set these programs up as I am not willing to register, and also to pay an mp3 license fee (not expensive, but I have no need for a public internet radio station). FirePlay and firefly suit my modest in-house requirements admirably...
