We should get a how to together on setting up a PDC and roaming profiles, I know that under the old forum that there were a couple of how to's, but since we have this group we should come up with something for the how to section!

Is there a start to this yet? I hate to "recreate" the wheel.

Wow! So there are other people besides myself asking similar questions.

Basically, I am also interested in having other Linux clients and Windows clients (if possible and I am sure it is using samba) authenticate against the ClearOS server.

Any updates or news on this topic?

I'll be setting up Clear OS 5.1 as a PDC in the near future and would be happy to help others avoid slogging through the time-consuming trial and error method. As soon as Vercom releases Iplex for ClearOS 5.1 I'll be moving from our Clarkconnect PDC to a brand new installation of ClearOS. I'll post something here and in the forums at that time.

    Cheers,

We have ClearOS servers running in almost every possible combination. Both as a member server and as the PDC. We are now trying to focus on creating a way to seamlessly migrate from a Windows domain (AD & SBS) to ClearOS without having to unjoin the desktops from the domain. For many years this has been impossible except on NT4 domains (which pretty much do not exist) but I wonder if anyone else is trying to accomplish this. Let me know if you want to compare notes.
