Hi guys,
Does Directory Server work or not? I'm using COS7.3 (Business trial) and i can't run Directory Server app.
Like other users who ask similar questions, I can not enter computers with Windows 7 or higher in the domain. I have tried all the tips mentioned in previous post, but nothing works. (From the manual of installation of this app in the documentation of ClearOS, edit the registry of Windows, etc.)
Does Directory Server have any problems in this version or am I doing something wrong?
Samba Directory works perfectly, but it's on BETA and I've had some minor issues.
Please help!

Guys, I'm so sorry.
I finally solved this problem. The ClearOS Business support team responded to a ticket several days ago and it worked. I'll copy the answer.
Make sure that you have installed and configured the following apps in the Marketplace:
Certificate Manager
Flexshares
Windows Networking (Samba)
Directory Server
Also, make sure that you are adding the registry key as required here by Samba:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Required_Settings_for_Samba_NT4_Domains
Also, make sure that ClearOS is a name server for WINS and that DHCP is giving WINS information for 0x8 (hybrid) for the ClearOS server. This is a default configuration if using ClearOS for WINS but it often missed if using another DHCP server or using static IP addresses.
Kind regards,
ClearCenter Support

By my negligence, I had not initialized Windows Networking app in COS7.3. I'm so sorry, again.
Thank you very much for your time! -

On the CoS server: -
In DHCP what is the Domain?
In Directory Server what is the Base domain?
In Windows Networking, what is the Windows Domain?
From your workstation can you screenshot the output of ipconfig /all
Is your workstation currently a member of a domain or a workgroup?
DHCP Domain: bluemint.local
DS Base Domain: bluemint.local
WN Domain: bluemint
IMG Attached.
My workstation is not a member of domain yet, cause the directory service is not working. -

What error/response do you get when attempting to join a workstation to the domain?
I get this message (attached img).
"You can not contact an active directory domain controller " ... I do not know exactly what the message will be in English, but it is the typical error message when connecting a computer to a domain that you can not reach. -

Have you seen this article? One thing to emphasise is the time issue. The sever and client must have the same time even if it is wrong.
I have seen this article and I followed all the recommendations but my machines do not see the domain created with Directory Server. But when I have tested it with Samba Directory it works immediately.
I confirmed that the hours of both machines were correctly configured. -

Have you reinstalled to set up Directory Server (LDAP) or did you just try uninstalling Samba Directory?
No, I installed Directory Server from scratch and I can not enter computers into the domain.
Then, I installed COS7.3 from scratch and I've tested it with Samba Directory and it works.
I try again, with a new installation of COS7.3 from scratch, I install Directory Server and it does not work in any way.
I do not encourage you to use Samba Directory as it is on BETA.
My question is: Am I doing something wrong with Directory Server that I can not join Windows machines to the domain?
I tried with all the recommendations I found in the forum. -
