current Transmission client in ClearOS is 2.84 (this was a requested update 2 years ago https://tracker.clearos.com/view.php?id=7141)

current Transmission client public release is 2.94, is it possible to upgrade it with just the RPM or do I need to wait for the marketplace update

On my system the transmission server (transmission-daemon) is 2.92 which is in clearos-epel-verified. It is very odd because clearos-epel only has 2.84, but that is the community repo. The verified repo is home/business which should never be ahead of community. I'll have to ask. You can also get 2.92 from epel unverified but you'd need to do that manually with:
    yum update transmission-daemon --enablerepo=epel-unverified
I would have thought it was safe as it is already at that release in clearos-epel-verified.

Do you have a source for your 2.94 rpm?

Note that clearos-epel-verified is at 2.92-1 and epel-unverified is at 2.92-12
