Hi everyone,

I was following the tutorial for installing sipxecs. Everything installed and i can login to the web interface etc, but i have an error where Sip Trunking fails and also Sip Proxy

# SipXbridge : Exception caught while running
# org.sipfoundry.sipxbridge.SipXbridgeException: Could not do dns lookup for mydomain.lan etc...

and for sipProxy error:

* SIP route to SIPXCHANGE_DOMAIN_NAME 'mydomain.lan' is not to my IP address: 192.168.1.1
* See the installation guide on setting the DNS SRV records and domain names

The only thing i can think of is that i couldn't install the java-1.6.0-sun-fonts package, i get the following error:

[root@system ~]# yum -y install java-1.6.0-sun-fonts
Loading "protect-packages" plugin
Loading "kmod" plugin
Setting up Install Process
Parsing package install arguments
No package java-1.6.0-sun-fonts available.
Nothing to do
[root@system ~]#

Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks everyone

( System Config:
eth0 - not in use
eth1 - gateway / public ip
eth2 - lan - 192.168.1.1

    Hi Jason,

    Did you perform this step?

    http://www.clearfoundation.com/docs/howtos/freeswitch_with_sipxecs#set_up_dns_domain_record

This adds your domain name to the DNS server in ClearOS so it points to your ClearOS server?

Please let me know if that helps.

Based on the error messages, I suspect you do not have a public DNS address on the internet. I.e. you will need a proper public internet domaine and you will need your DNS records setup to point that domaine name to your server. Alternatively, you can use the DNS name offered by COS as a free service. That also allows you to overcome the issue of changing IP addresses if you, like most of us, are "blessed" with dynamic IP.

    My 2 cents,

    Peter
