I am cleaning out old IT equipment and came across our old Firewall with ClarkConnect Office Edition/Kudzu/Lynx Version 2.8.5. It is not supported any longer (circa 2005). Before I destroy it, I just want to be sure that there would not be any company files on this unit. While this software/unit usually would be for firewall protection only, there is a possibility it may have been used as an external backup. It fear that it may have been a file server, I'm not sure how it was configured. If I don't have the password for this old unit, is there a work-around so I can read the hard drive? Or maybe an easy way to tell if there are resident files other than firewall protection? Maybe on boot-up prior to password screen? I’d be fired if it turns out this was a file server also and I didn’t capture the data.
