Hi everybody

This is my first question in the forum, and my first ClearOS ( and Linux ) installation in my life

I've tried to configure remote access throgh Internet to my server, but following the instructions read in a tutorial, i have set selinux enabled, and since i rebootted Clearos doesn't shows the login screen, i get a plain screen showing only on/off and network icons.

How can i access to my GUI or a console from there.

Thanks a lot

Sorry if it's a stupid question, i'm a complete newbie in any kind of linux

If you are in the Graphical Console, on the top right there should be a button "Exit to text console". Hit it. From there hit Alt+f2 to get to a text console.

Once you are up and running, you should try and get PuTTy and WinSCP running.

Thanks a lot for your help Nick

My computer starts in GUI mode, i've tried to switch to console by pressing ALT + F2 but it didn't work.

I've also tried to access to the console from windows installing Putty ( new for me as well ).

The first time i opened the connection i got an error, now i don't get an error but Putty window gets closed when the connection is stablished, i thought it would appear the console or something.

Perhaps i should do anything more

I've no idea what tutorial you are following. ClearOS does not use selinux and I believe it cannot safely be enabled or ClearOS will not work. From the console you should be able to exit to a terminal screen with alt+f2. I am not sure of your reference to "on/off". You may also be able to ssh into ClearOS. The usual tool from Windows is PuTTy, but Win10 now also comes with an ssh terminal.

Then, for remote access, check out the OpenVPN app in the Marketplace.
