Hi,
I have installed my system without any issue. System is registered in Clearos web site.
After a period of time, I decided to add some SW (a kde desktop), running yum based installs, no tricky things ...
Now my system tells me it can't find the license ... but it works fine, I can use it ...
Message is no license found.
I have archives of my system, so if I could figure out which file to restore, I think I can fix this.

Can someone tell me where is/are the file I may have lost (as I don't know the filename, I can't even imagine what I may have done that removed it ...)

Thxs for you help,

    Hi there,

I had the exact same issue.

    Found this manual online:
    https://documentation.clearos.com/content:en_us:kb_7_install_graphical_desktop_for_clearos

    And then this part:
If you get a message about 'Finish Configuration' on a subsequent reboot, remove the packages for initial-setup (yum remove initial-setup initial-setup-gui) .

    yum remove initial-setup initial-setup-gui

    Fixed the issue for me.

I think I need a screenshot of this one! I don't believe ClearOS checks for a licence key when it boots.

    Hello,

Sorry but I got same issue today with a new machine.
I installed it as usual, it worked perfectly for few days.
Then I have installed the packages I need, and as I moved it physically, I had to boot it.
At boot sequence I got the check for license that says license not found
I tried what is written here, register the system again, and same thing, even after reboot.
I tried twice to be sure I run the steps correctly. Same result.
My system is working fine except that I can't access it locally as local console is never started in such case.
Do you have something to suggest?

I have other system installed wtih ClearOS wihtout any issue and all of them are installed the same way.
I can boot from another Linux system, I can do many things to figure out what could have happenned here.
But I would prefer to not reinstall it from scratch, especially without understanding what is this issue.

    Thxs for your help,

    Hi,

    Thxs for you help.

My system was registered correctly and I have already run the reset procedure as Dave explained.
Thxs to the forum (which is very well done and clear), I found this myself.

After re-registration, I have a hostkey in the web console, all went ok (declared as re-installation as Nick suggested).
Then I restarted my system and I still have the issue at the boot: system wants to start an installation saying license file is not available.
I can hit c/q or r for refresh (BTW, this message was also present before reboot, I have checked that also).
If I hit r, same message is prompted again.
But clearos is working fine: I can use it, install packages etc ...I can even open a tty console in another tty (linux standard behavior) and all is working perfectly.
So it is not a blocking issue and may be the best thing to do is to really reinstall from scratch (I listed all the actions I did, I can easily redo the install).
If I do so and have the same issue, well I will be happy to contribute and discover a weird bug somewhere ;)

But as I setup an archive system very soon in my work, I am sure I have an archive in which I could retrieve the missing file if this is only a missing file somewhere.

So current status is: unfortunately issue is not fixed even after re-register.
I can see my system in the ClearCenter, with all menu entries working fine in the clearcenter portal so, nothing wrong there.
Clearos is working perfectly and web console says system is registered, with name, hostkeys etc ...

Only negative point is that message in login console (not the web one, the tty) saying license file is not here, and if I hit q, system reboots.

Of course, I can try other actions if you have other ideas ...

    Thxs for your support

Check your portal on the ClearSDN:

    https://secure.clearcenter.com/portal/

Whether you have paid or not you can look at your system(s) there. Worst case scenario is that you can register/re-register your system by going to the registration page in Webconfig and adding a 'reset' to the URL:

    https://www.clearos.com/resources/documentation/clearos/content:en_us:kb_o_reset_registration

Can you re-register it as a re-installation so it uses the license already in your Clearcenter account?
