Hi,

So I'm looking for help with my clearos.
My layout would be modem to clearos to router
I would like to have clearos manage my dhcp settings which requires putting my router into bridge mode or just disabling dhcp (correct me on which one i should do)
The issue that brings my network down would be network settings on the clearos how should my 2 network cards be configured?

I did it was a firmware issue with my velop system that caused no connections when whiching to bridge mode. so I update that and everything seems to be working perfectly

okay so that was correct what I did, but once again my velop velop system goes offline when I put it in bridge mode or just disable only dhcp

You have two posts but they conflict a bit. I won't answer the other one and if we sort things here, I will delete it.

If you are trying to use ClearOS as you gateway device and the router for a switch and WAP (probably the ideal scenario), connect the ClearOS WAN to your modem device.
Connect your PC to the router LAN then, in the router, change its IP address to one outside the DHCP scope of the ClearOS LAN but on the ClearOS LAN subnet. Typically ClearOS has a .1 IP address and DHCP is from .100 to .254 (I reduce mine). I would suggest using .2, or if you lower the upper value of the DHCP scope, use .254. Then turn off the router DHCP. At this point you can connect the ClearOS LAN to the router LAN. On the PC renew the lease so it gets it from ClearOS (either reboot, or in Windows do an "ipconfig /release" then "ipconfig /renew"). You should then be up and running. Do not use the WAN interface on the router.

Can I suggest you also change the default ClearOS LAN subnet. 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 are best avoided.

okay so the clearos lan i would change it from its normal 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1? or are you saying from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2?
