HI,
we have a stack of 2 Clearbox 300s. They were running ClearOS 6.9 just fine in a mission crtical gateway configuration, but there's a flaw/bug in libreswan which will not be backported once fixed. So I pursued the path of upgrading to ClearOS 7.
The challenge that arises now is, that the previously used heartbeat package is no longer available in epel-7. In fact, it's been deprecated.
What ist the supported way of using that very essential feature, with the wiring scheme as before and seemingly still valid as indicated on https://www.clearos.com/products/hardware/clearbox-300-series#flexibility ?
I am a bit baffled at this stage? Which package(s) is/are to be installed? keepalived will not utilize the - oh so handy - serial connection as did the heartbeat package.
Cheers,
Stefan

For posterity, I managed to find some information and documented in the knowledgebase at https://documentation.clearos.com/content:en_us:clearbox_bypass_with_clearos7. Note that it is not a brilliant piece of documentation and I would be happy to work with anyone who as the hardware to improve the documentation, and perhaps even finish the app.
