I had left COS because the new version just was not working out for me. The main problem was that the load balancing was not working correctly whatsoever. I was curious if things have improved much so I can come back.

Ah, nice. Thank you very much. Now installing on a test system. This site always seems hard to navigate when I have been away from it for a while. I greatly appreciate the response Peter.

    Hi Chris,

There was a tracker created for the multiwan issue:
    http://tracker.clearfoundation.com/view.php?id=503

In the end, we think it was a perl ping library (tracker #668) that was the root cause. The tracker doesn't have much detail, but basically the network check was sometimes always succeeding even on an offline connection. We were never able to duplicate the issue or see the problem on a customer system. That type of issue is always hard to fix. with great success.

Thought I would bring this one back from the dead. It is our slow season here, so ideal time to upgrade.

It looks like 6.4 has been out for a bit. Is multi wan functioning happily now?

I know I've seen something recently about the 6.4 release. I believe it is waiting for the upstream release first (which is also at beta), but it should be in the next few months. I think some of the 6.4 stuff still needs finishing (e.g webconfig for QoS) and there are some bug fixes being pushed through as well e.g. to OpenVPN. Keep your eye on the blog.

FWIW, I'm just a domestic user but I upgraded to 6.3 once I saw a route for the free e-mail app. There have been a few interesting things on the way but it is stable enough for me - but I don't use multiwan.

Sounds good. Thank you very much for the feedback. It is for a production environment, so I think I will wait until it is out of beta. Do you know an expected date for 6.4? a realistic one...

I was hoping it would be you that responded Nick, you are usually on the same "wavelength" as me.

If it was MultiWAN which pushed you away then I suggest you wait until 6.4 is out. It is currently at beta1 which you could try. There is also a new QoS module for it but it may need manual configuration for the moment (I am not sure).
