Hi,

I'm currently running a clearos server on an old laptop. // for home use purposes
This laptop is a Dell 600 and has a working monitor.

As I wish to run this server unattended in a closet and I wish to reduce my power consumption/overhead my keyboard.
I would like to configure my server to run with a closed lid and a black screen.

However, when I close the lid the server keeps working (no hibarnation), but the screen remains active.
Does anyone have an idea on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks a lot.

BTW: I'm really impressed with the distribution, it was really what I'm looking for.

Guys lets be serius, here the point is:

    1. We are using a laptop like gateway to save space at home-office.
    2. When we close the laptop to stored or placed in another furniture, the system enter in sleep-mode or hibernation.
    3. We are looking for a solution for the lid switch to avoid enter into this named " Suspended mode "

We need your help if knows a way or configuration changes to modify our gateway configuration, we will really appreciate if knows how to do it please.

    Thank you

    Hi Tom aat,

My laptop has a keyboard shortcut (fn + f7) to switch off the screen.

Or perhaps a BIOS setup configuration?

I would think that the screen turning off would be a hardware switch not something software related. I might be wrong.
