Same issue in ClerOS 7.3 with Softera LDAP browser 4.5
error message : "Cannot contact LDAP Server"

LDAP is however listening

 netstat -anp | grep slapd

tcp        0      0 10.0.0.142:636          0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      18064/slapd

tcp        0      0 127.0.0.1:389           0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      18064/slapd

LDAP Browser confirguation is correct : ldaps://10.0.0.142:636/dc=xxx........
Because I don't know how to activate LDAP Logs, I do not have futher information to provide.

Are you still getting "connection refused"? Can you telnet to port 636 on the ClearOS system?

Hi Patrick,

I fire up Apache Directory Studio from time to time. It's a good way to browse around both OpenLDAP and Samba 4 Active Directory (doc for connecting Apache Directory Studio to Samba Directory).

Please make sure the Publish Policy setting in the Directory Server app is set to something other than "Not Published".
