I have just done a clean install of the above and for the life of me cannot get Thunderbird to send a message. Each time I get an error in Thunderbird:

"An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 4.3.0 <username@example.com>: Temporary lookup failure. Please check the message recipient "username@example.com" and try again.

I can send messages back and forth using Squirrelmail OK, so that would imply the username does indeed exist.

Any ideas?

A reinstall and reconfigure seems to have done the trick :D

I believe the problem may have been caused by inadvertently selecting Samba Directory (Beta) form the Marketplace instead of Samba windows networking.

Many thanks for your response in any case Ben :)

There might be some additional information in the mail log file (via Webconfig @ Reports --> Log Viewer) or CLI in /var/log/maillog that shed some light.
