  • Hi,

Thanks very much for your detailed and prompt response. I have elected to use 'Let's Encrypt' and followed the instructions at the link that you provided. I have a follow-up question though that relates to the certificate itself, not an email specific question.

The mail server's name is mail.domain_name.com.au. It is also accessible as hermes.domain_name.com.au. I can also access the mail server via a VPN ( which I general do from home ) simply as 'hermes'. Is it possible to construct a certificate that will be valid for all three possibilities? In fact domain_name.com.au also resolves to the same IP address as the NON VPN name variants.

    Thanks.

  • Expired Digital Certificate | Self Signed Certificate

    Hi All,

This morning, 21DEC2018, when I checked my email using my iPhone on my ClearOS server [ 7.5.0 ] Community Ed. I received a warning saying that my self-signed digital certificate has expired. Accessing the same mail account using Thunderbird is also reports that the certificate expired on 20DEC2018.

Using the web GUI, Security >> Certificate Manager I was able to regenerate I was able to regenerate the existing Default Certificate. I can see when connecting to my ClearOS host using a web browser that the expiry date of this certificate is now 18 December 2028.

It would appear that the certificate that the mail server uses is not the same file as that used by httpd. How do I update the self-signed certifiece that the email server uses?

    TIA
