trying to update a v6 system from the command line (intel atom D2500CC not supported in v7 kernel)

yum clean all & yum update

progresses to get file lists etc and terminates with an error.

Error: failure: repodata/c8150aa6b840bd37fd2a56d910e59767c8edd232dc5afeaa1dae6e8b9171f94d-filelists.sqlite.bz2 from contribs: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.

did some googling which revealed Why does yum return error: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try ?

so I deleted the yum cache dir and ran yum clean again

Then yum repolist

[root@gateway ~]# yum repolist

Seems a permission problem with http://clearos.uberglobalmirror.com/community/6/addons/i386/repodata/repomd.xml

I'm not sure where to go now.

I looked at the page "https://access.redhat.com/solutions/69319" and it suggests there is an intermediate proxy, but I am not aware of one (ISP may have one I guess but nothing configured that I know of)

The package in clearos-updates seems to be faulty see here. You can probably do a:
yum update --exclude=libvorbis

Many thanks Nick. That all makes sense and got me far enough. (headless server without sound anyway!).

Progress. I deleted clearos-centos.repo.rpmnew from /etc/yum/yum.repos.d which allowed yum repolist to complete without an error

yum update still produces the 403 error but this time yum update continues to execute but there is a dependency issue re: libvorbis-1.2.3-6.el6.i686

    also did

    yum clean all
    yum update app-base
    yum clean all
    yum update

I got as far as I could with yum update --skip-broken but stuck with the following (ClearOS 6.x)

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
