I need to walk my brother through trying to find a device using a lot of bandwidth a day or two ago and I am not certain what report or what CLI app/command to use to try and find this device from a few days ago.
Obviously I could go through the reports and stumble upon it but just hoping to save some time and that someone knows and can point to the correct place from the "get go".
Thanks for any assistance!
John

You may be able to use Netify for this. Otherwise Google "monitor network activity linux" for this. there are plenty of apps, but not nload or vnstat as they work at interface level rather than port or LAN IP level (depending on what you want).

Thanks Nick!

Yes I did. I figured it out using one of the installed CLI tools, iptraf and just waiting. Just hoping that there was a historical type tool, (and maybe a bit lazy on my part, so I asked), that could zero in on a prior date and time.
I was going to delete the post but didn't find/see a delete.
Thank you sir!
John
