I installed the plex media server via the marketplace on ClearOS 7.2 Home. The Plex server shows up under file server in Webconfig, but no link to configure the media server. I have the option of selecting that all clients can connect, or to create acls, & the client sees that there is a Plex server on the network, I just can't figure out how to configure the server. Thanks

I am away from my system at the moment, but you should be able to get to the Plex interface through http://your_ClearOS_LAN_IP:32400. -

Hi,
I have a similar problem.
I got the web interface for set some differents directories.
So On my TV, I see, the menu without any files.
My directories on flexshares /var/flexshare/shares/diskdata.
Which is set in fstab / UUID=xxxxx /var/flexshare/shares/diskdata
In this diskdata, I have some sub-folders : Docs, Images, ... and Videos
In Video some others folders : Cam, Movies, Series.
In Series : Gomorra, Motive etc.
In the Plex setup I set the Series folder ... but, nothing appear in the "Plex windows"
Videos files could be MKV, AVI, and other formats.
Where is my mistake ?
Please, advice.
Regards.

I don't use flexshares for my Plex stuff, but they are in a Samba share.
It is my point of view (about flexshare) a big .... problem for me.
Hello.
So, I don't know ans understand samba. Goggle don't help me, I'm not a super engineer.
I have to remove flexshare ; simply from the market place ... or re-install all from scratch , it will be only the 100 th time ;
then only use samba.
Can I copy / paste the flexshare.conf configuration into the smb.conf file? quite simply ?
Regards

I understood your last answer, but ...
I would like manage share (like for my NAS) for plex with smb.conf.
My choice is do not use flexshares. You wrote it is possible, you did it.
Have a look on some on my files :
#
# /etc/fstab
# Created by anaconda on Thu Feb 20 17:48:43 2020
#
# Accessible filesystems, by reference, are maintained under '/dev/disk'
# See man pages fstab(5), findfs(8), mount(8) and/or blkid(8) for more info
#
/dev/mapper/clearos_hpg10-root / xfs defaults 0 0
UUID=b9aecb7e-6c71-4b18-9a2b-4cd514159117 /boot xfs defaults 0 0
UUID=86A1-A554 /boot/efi vfat umask=0077,shortname=winnt 0 0

UUID=b333c3d6-4878-4991-808f-86b66e422cd4 /store/DiskBKup ext4 defaults 1 2
The 2 last lines was include by app-storage application.
then
the smb.conf file.
On this one, I just add the x share definition
[DiskData]
[DiskBKup]
[Films]
[Series]
[Musiques]
[Plex]
I see and access to these "shares" on a file explorer (nautilus) debian station with the "command"
smb://hpg10/diskdata/
or on the full disk
smb://hpg10
BUT ; Plex see only the "DiskData" and the "DiskBKup" without the sub-folders and files.

What I did was clone a share from /etc/samba/flexshare.conf into /etc/samba/smb.njh.conf. and edit it:
I am not sure the "force ??? mode" lines are needed. You probably need a "valid users" line and if you are going to write to it you may need the "force group" but I'm not sure. It is years since I did it.[videos]
comment = Video Files
path = /shares/DLNA/
force group = allusers
public = no
valid users = @howitts
browseable = yes
writeable = yes
force create mode = 0660
force directory mode = 0770
Then in /etc/samba/smb.conf I added a line "include = /etc/samba/smb.nick.conf" after the "include = /etc/samba/flexshare.conf" line. I did it this way to have less chance of the webconfig overwriting your config, but editing smb.conf directly may be OK as well. -
