Hi Team,

I want to Setup a Home VPN Server.
I have the below details ,

Static IP from Airtel.
Huawei HG8145V5 FTTH Router , Intel NUC with 1 LAN / NIC & a External USB Lan (<blockquote>USB Lan is not Connected</blockquote>;).
I had successfully install the ClearOs.
My CleasOS Web Interface also Publicly accessible.
<blockquote>This is the Address : https://122.**.**.33:81/</blockquote> (This IP is Temporary and Testing for my Home VPN, So I'm giving it here)

VPN is working , and I'm able to connect to VPN and also able to ping my Internal IP 192.168.1.100 , but the Problem is , when ever I search what is my IP in Google, its show me my Dynamic IP not my VPN Server Static IP which is 122.*.*.33

Regards

A bit messy and a few things to sort.

    • Your internet facing NIC should be set to External and not DMZ. Your external router can still consider OpenVPN to be in a DMZ, but, if you want to access the rest of your LAN via OpenVPN, it should not be in a DMZ and you should just port forward usp:1194 to it
    • Your Internet Hostname should be something which resolves to your WAN IP and is used in the .ovpn file you download for your clients. If you have a Dynamic IP, I suggest you activate your free poweredbyclear.com DDNS and use that.
    • For a LAN subnet, if you're going to use OpenVPN, 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 are best avoided if you want to ensure your remote subnet is not the same.
    • As you have an RTL8111/8168/8411 NIC make sure you have installed the kmod-r8168 and kmod-r8169 drivers and reboot. They work much better with that NIC.
