Trying to get Plex up and running with content, here is what I did.

Created Flexshares: homemusic, homemovies, homepictures set to allusers.

Copied files to each from a Mac from local folders to /var/flexshares/shares/sharename. They are there.

Logged into Plex with PlexPass username and pw.

Created Library in Plex for each and pointed Folder to the FlexShares.

Plex thinks they are empty.

Permissions shows the owner is a user, group is allusers,

Tried chmod 777 * and still seems empty to Plex. Rebooted and same state.

Thoughts? Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure why the flexshares aren't playing well with ClearOS. The only thing I can think of is permissions/ownership which is why I asked you to have another look to see if ClearOS had allowed you to change them.

FWIW the upload method still is not too bad! Uploading by WInSCP is much slower. Fastest is to upload into a share with Windows File Sharing them move the files with WinSCP. A bit messy.

I will try that later today.

Was hoping that since Plex and FlexShare are both supported modules that they would work together or that the docs would provide some direction. :o

Doing it outside FlexShare makes sense, just eliminates the upload method I have trained my kids in.

To be honest I'm not sure what the problem is. Have you checked if ClearOS allowed your ownership and permissions as it can override them?

I don't use flexshares, but I do use a samba share for my films and ownership is root:allusers with folders set to 755 and films to 664. Perhaps you can just create a folder outside a share for the moment and see if plex works with that.
