Issue

Should hot vlan prevent pining to LAN/Router

I have a LAN and a Hot Vlan setup in my community edition router.
Everything is working fine, I just have a question.

A pc from the Hot Vlan can't access the router but I can ping the router.
Is this by design or I have not setup something correctly?

If this is by design should I be concerned?

I use my LAN for my pc and laptops and Hot Vlan is for IoT devices.

Yes the router is always pingable from a HotLAN by design. The router is also open for DHCP and DNS and anything where you have specifically opened the incoming firewall or set up port forwarding rules. Otherwise it is closed.
