(External is simply an interface that is Internet facing.) thus that mean external is for ISP connection? and which one for the clients? LAN, HotLAN, DMZ?

    Have a look at this documentation for a description of the LAN types. Normally you'd just use the LAN role. External is for the ISP (or an interface that leads towards an ISP e.g. an interface connected to an external modem/router).

    If ClearOS is in standalone mode, use External and not any of the LAN roles.

    ... and I suggest you avoid the 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 subnets on your LAN if you can.
