I noticed on my system that apart from some app updates there haven't been any clearOS 7.3 updates since late July. 'yum update' and 'yum upgrade' both come back with 'no packages marked for update'.
Then I looked at the CentOS site and found that there apparently aren't any updates for 7.3 past late July (http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7.3.1611/updates/x86_64/Packages)
Perhaps I'm just not familiar with the timing of CentOS patch releases. Seems odd there haven't been any OS updates in the past month. What am I missing?
Thanks.

Brian - all updates from ClearOS... using the Community Version... auto updates turned off, proactively look for updates and apply first to test machine and if OK then to production... Community gets updates before the 'paid' versions.
Only mentioned 'CR' to indicate where CentOS is focused at the moment... don't use 'CR' here to update ClearOS -

We will always push hard for security updates and bug fixes. In truth, a lot of packages are already staged for release with 7.4 already and you can look in the 'clearos-updates-testing' repos to see what is coming.
Also, you can track our progress here:

OK, thanks Tony and Dave for your responses.
Dave, following the 'deluge' of updates for clearOS 7.4, will there generally then be periodic updates for bug fixes and security vulnerabilities?
Tony, did the list of recent updates you provided come from the 7.3 Home/Business release or the 7.4 'CR'? I ask because apart from a few app updates in August, I haven't seen any updates for my system since July. For example, you list an update to openldap-clients-2.4.44-5.v7.x86_64. Whereas on my system the latest I see is openldap-clients-2.4.40-13.v7.1.x86_64.
thanks again!

There is an update coming. A big one. CentOS is a rebuild of Redhat Enterprise Linux from RHEL sources. Redhat released version 7.4 on Aug 1, 2017. That is the update to CentOS and it is the update to ClearOS. ClearOS is currently based on CentOS so the workflow for all patches is typically this:
Redhat >> CentOS >> ClearOS QA >> ClearOS Community >> ClearOS Home/Business
CentOS is not yet code complete on all of their packages and we typically wait until 2 things occur on CentOS before adopting their packages:
1) that they have sufficient SRPMs and libraries available to build the distinctive ClearOS parts
2) that they release their ISO installer
With our recent shift to quarterly ISOs we don't care so much about number 2 anymore. As for number 1, we've already rebuilt for 7.4 a significant portion of what will be 7.4 including the kernel. There are just a few more items that we need from CentOS to be code complete for 7.4. And then expect a deluge of updates. Significant in this update are major kernel improvements that patch the source Redhat kernel with many kernel 4 improvements. -

CentOS are putting all their efforts into releasing 7.4 which will happen very soon...
The 'CR' update is already out with what will be 7.4...
We have released the CR repo with what will be the CentOS 7 (1708)
content.
