ClearOS 7 updated. My IMAP server suddenly stopped working. I can't connect on standard or SSL ports. This is a bit of a problem as I'm somewhat reliant on it. I've restarted, stopped and started services etc. Mail clients report a number of messages in my inbox, but never connect. I've tried Thunderbird, Outlook and K9 Android mail. Help!

What updates have you had recently? Cyrus-imapd has not changed for about 18 months.

Are you seeing any messages in the maillog or messages log?

Is cyrus-imapd running?

[edit]
Are you running the Attack Detector app and have banned yourself because of authentication failures like a changed password?

I contacted them, they assured me that they won't do it again, but that's not a bad idea.
The next hurdle will be when I finally get connected to the long awaited Oz nbn, my service currently on hold because of HFC modem shortages.

If there is risk of your ISP doing that again, you could activate your free poweredbyclear.com DDNS and use that FQDN instead. You can even point your MX record to it.

HI Nick, thanks for the prompt response.

I'm wearing a little egg right now, my ISP unexpectedly changed my 7 years fixed IP overnight ;)

Oh, and column B...there was a bit of Fail2Ban action hindering remediation.

    All good now, cheers.
