Hello,

I was using a long time ClearOS 5.2 with Multiwan. My public IP address is assigned dynamically.

With 5.2 I was able to set the specific WAN-Interface to the dynamic DNS.

How is the setup for ClearOS 6.4? I cant find this config option anymore.

The problem is, that my public IP is every time set to my backup address? But this address is not reachable.

any hint?

Thanks crazym

I have allready registerd a domain name with clear, and i am using Dynamic DNS to Clear and i have been doing that the past two years witout any problems, but with the 5.2 version. i only had to check the box beside the wan adapter i want to use as my dyn dns adapter.
it was so simple and stable, i had the machine up for two years witout even a reboot, and i always found my way home.

Now i have to connect my pc with TeamViwer from there up to my router (machine) and change the dynamic dns from webconfig back to the land line to be able to reach home again.

I was hoping there would be a simpler way than connecting to a secound dyndns provider and installing an extra client to get back to clearcenter..... which holds all my dns info including mail and MX records and MX backup.

Or do i have to go back to 5.2 to get the same stability as before?

Use a DynDNS provider like DtDNS (my favourite) and register a name (free) then grab yourself a copy of ddclient which can be told which adaptor to use to determine its IP address. There is a somewhat old thread somewhere in this forum but it is still valid.

Hello, i have the same problem, i have two internet lines, one wired and one provided by a 4G wireless router.
i would really like to have the Dyn DNS going throu my cabled internet line, becase the telephone company that supplys the 4G connection does not have any possibilities to rout traffic to my machine.
so i then have to prioritise my land line, whitch in my case is the slow one only 7,5 Mbps while the 4G line is up to 30 Mbps.

The land line give me the public adress while the 4G router only gives me the private ip ( 192.168.x.x.)

But if i set the 4 G line with weight 5 and the land line with 2, aftr a while the dyn dns is updated and my caals back home is lost in cyberspace :-(

    Anny sugestions?

This was actually verry simple in 5.2

I can't answer your question directly, but the latest version is able to support a MultiWAN environment with a different FQDN assigned to each WAN. In your case I am not sure how it would have to be configured as neither of your WAN's have public IP's. It is simple with public IP's on each WAN.
