Good Day.
I have an offline ClearOS server that has no internet connection. When configured, I neglected to install the egress firewall. (My mistake). Is there an option to download the package and install it on the offline ClearOS installation? If this is possible, could someone supply the site where the download can be found.

Thanks,
Henry

Start with Mirrors and pick a mirror near you, work your way to rpms packages.

e.g.
Look for Egress Package

:o Nobody ever votes on posts yet I managed to get a down vote!

The problem with asking ClearOS users technical questions is that ClearOS is designed to be used without needing to solve technical problems.
If we were adept at such things we'd have build our own servers from the base CentOS and run the whole thing from the shell prompt.

Worse still if you do delve into the config files and accomplish something then the next time you do something from the GUI your changes get wiped out. It tends to punish you for getting to smart.

The best way of solving a tricky ClearOS problem is to back up the config files and all the data and start again with a clean install. I think you've realised that now.

    Hi Richard,

The firewall is to isolate my development environment from the rest of my internal network.
It will probably be faster for me to configure another ClearOS GW while the new vm is connected to the internet and then move the vm in place.
I just thought that if the package was available to download offline it would involve less work. I guess not. :-)

    Thanks,

Just out of curiosity, if you've an offline system with no internet connection, why do you need a firewall in place?

    Or am I missing something?

    Hi,

Even the external LAN does not have internet access as it is also isolated for security reasons. Bottom line, the ClearOS installation has NO internet access possibilities.

The question remains, is it possible to download the egress firewall (or other marketplace programs) from a location so it/they can be installed on a completely offline ClearOS?
If these installations are accessible, would anyone be able to provide a link to them.

    Thanks,
    Henry

I think you should ask your question in a different way or ask a different question. Your question presumes the answer.

Your ClearOS is off line and you think you missed installing the egress firewall. That makes no sense to me.

I suggest you go into networking and make sure you have a port marked as External and that is connected to your LAN via DHCP.
I would expect it to go online once you've done that. Then you should have access to the Marketplace and be able to add the apps you need.
