I am finally replacing my DSL-line (17/2.7 Mb/s) with fibre where I can get anything between 10 and 1000 Mb/s.

My ISP is offering private IP and NAT which is useless since I run my own server with Zarafa email and ownCloud filesharing. Alternativley they can offer IPV6.

Now, I need some advise from the community

Should I accept the offer to go with IPV6?

Does ClearOS support IPV6 in gateway mode?
I am currently using ClearOS 6.9.0 as gateway and server and is unwilling to upgrade to 7 due to the amount of work involved in migrating Zarafa to a new environment.

If it is unwise to use ClearOS 6.9 as IPV6 gateway, can it be used as a standalone server on my LAN with another router using IPV6?

Any thoughts are useful, thanks in advance.

But it can be used as a standalone server on your LAN using IPv4 if you have a router in front of your LAN to give you IPv6 connectivity.

Sorry, ClearOS 6 does not support IPv6. ClearOS 7 has some rudimentary support for IPv6, but it the firewall still needs to be managed via custom rules. Hopefully we'll get a bit further down the road with IPv6 with the release of ClearOS 8.
