I'm trying out ClearOS in a hyper-v machine (I chose the free 30-day home version) and running through the config wizard I have come to the point where I need to input the internet domain name and it appears to require a resolvable internet domain. Obtaining a domain and routing all that through my gateway to my lan and through the virtual switch is outside the scope of what I'm willing to mess with for this evaluation. I might use clearos as a gateway among other things in the future but I want to play with it in a vm first.
Is there a way to bypass this (seemingly required internet domain) in order to finish the wizard?

It does not need a resolvable domain name. You van make one up. Typical is to use the .clearos, .lan or .local suffix. Technically .local belongs to avahi and should not be used if you are running Apple services. .lan is also reserved, so it is up to you what you choose.
You can use a subdomain of an existing domain if you want as well.
