I have used ClearOS a number of times and am familiar with the setup process/interface.

I have a new (bought second hand) HP ProLiant MicroServer N54L (Gen7 with AMD Turion cpu).

When i boot from USB or DVD I get to the menu to install, test and install or troubleshooting.

i have tried all the options that end up installing but the syst always hangs in the same place.

The screen goes white with a flashing cursor, then goes black and starts initializing.

It always hangs on kernel_init 0x80/0x80

any suggestions?

To eliminate dodgey hardware I successfully loaded Windows with no issues.

Thanks for the response, as it turns out, all I had to do was disable linkstate power management in the BIOS.

I dont understand why it worked, but i saw a post for a different setup with that suggestion. Either way, ClearOS is installed and running now.

    Thank you.

There used to be reports if issues for the N54L and Centos like here and here. Can you try adding the kernel boot parameter. I think you either need to pause the boot loader by hitting any key when prompted, or by hitting tab when you get to the "kernel" line of the boot process.
