I need to build a client Clearos 7.3 on an existing Dell 2850 with 4 SCSI drives connected to a PERC 4/e RAID controller. By habit, I used the Dell RAID utilities to configure a Raid 5 array and initialized it before booting the clearos DVD for installation. The install runs ok up to the point of choosing the target local drives. None are found.

By way of experimenting, I booted the same machine with clearos 5.2 and the installation found the drives and installed correctly.

I suspect that I need to change the boot options on 7.3 to find the Dell array. Any suggestions?

Thank you!
John

If you want, you could drop a request on the ElRepo mailing list and the kind souls there may be able to release a driver that I could compile. Then we would need to force the installer to use the compiled driver during the installation. We've struggled a bit with that before.

Thank you, Tony. I'll download 6.7 and give it a try. I'd really prefer to work around this driver issue for the latest if possible.

Not supported on 7.x... see https://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=7400

ClearOS 7.x is based on CentOS 7.x
