I just bought a used 64bit computer that I intend to use with ClearOS Community v7. It came with Windows 7 and some really good apps so I don't want to lose the Win7 stuff. I installed a new hard drive to take the ClearOS while leaving Win7 on the existing HD. Reading about installing ClearOS I'm warned that installing ClearOS will wipe out anything on the "Drive(s)". I downloaded ClearOS and made an install DVD. I ran the install up until the point where it said that it would start the install but I didn't see any way to select which hard drive it would use and there was no indication of whether it would effect the drive with win7 on it. How should I proceed?

For safety I'd pull the SATA cable from the Win7 disk while doing the installation just in case. Then you can reconnect the cable. At that point you can use the BIOS (typically F12) to select which disk to boot from. You should also be able to install some sort of boot manager which would allow you to choose between the installations without using the BIOS, but I don't know anything about them.
