I try to set Multi Wan on my ClearOS but i have problem

i have two Internet Provider

1. Sky 5 Static IP (Internet Provider)
2. PPPoe (PLDT)

my problem is when i put PLDT as my backup internet connection in Multi WAN my internet down and DNS is change
PLDT have DHCP Server since the DHCP server only provide IP for PLDT internet

or i need to use Router in Both Internet Provider to assign different IP Address but same Subnet Mask
just like the image attach?

can you teach me or give me a guide what im doing for this issue
and can you explain how MUlti wan works if the backup connection is automatic "UP" when primary "DOWN" or i need to disconnect
the primary internet connection to see if the backup PLDT Internet is working?

Thank You

you mean for the best result much better to put static ip provided by ISP Provider rather than to use PPPoE? if i use PPPoE i need to change into bridge mode and configure ClearOS WAN as PPPoE and my Sky since this is dedicated fiber line with static IP is no issue
Changing your PLDT modem to bridge mode and your ClearOS connection to it to PPPoE should mean you can configure ClearOS with the static IP that you use currently on your PLDT device. That is if it supports Bridge Mode.

about the DNS i use Google DNS but in my 1st try i use DNS of Sky and if switch to PLDT PLDT provide own different DNS and sky cannot accept this DNS
Don't use Sky's DNS at all, or at least put it after Google DNS. If you have it first, you have to wait for each lookup to fail before the Google DNS servers are tried. This will hit your PLDT connection when it takes over. If the Sky servers fail in a particular way, Google DNS will not even be tried.

Multi-Wan in ClearOS is for two or more internet connections going to the **SAME** ClearOS box with two or more external interfaces configured on that one box...

I have a feeling for failover to work correctly, ClearOS needs a direct internet connection. Without it, unless you fiddle with the logwatch files, it will see your connection alive as long as your ClearOS WAN to modem link is alive. Can you put your PLDT modem/router into bridge mode and then change the ClearOS WAN to PPPoE? Then your PLDT public IP will go straight to ClearOS. Can you do a similar thing with Sky, putting the Sky box into bridge mode? If it is not PPPoE then you should just configure ClearOS with your static IP.

Can I ask if you have used a public DNS service such as OpenDNS or GoogleDNS rather than the ISP one? You will probably need to with MultiWAN from different ISP's or you'll get DNS look up failures.
