Hey all,
just installed a fresh ClearOS copy to deeply test how the gateway.management content filter system works. I can see it working blocking sites (e.g. sexual content), I can also see it blocking ads but somehow the force safesearch is not working. Is is activated in my rule set on the device within gateway.mangement's control panel. There is none else installed yet in ClearOS.
I reinstalled ClearOS twice now, turned off and on. Booted my test browsing machine several times - still no luck. Is there any help with this module in here?
Testing was done with Chrome (Version 68.0.3440.106) on google.com and bing.com

Forced safe search is not a feature of the Community Edition (https://gateway.management/)
Are you using a version that supports it?

Go to DNS server and make a new entry for this ip 216.239.38.120 (this is the ip for safesearch.google.com) hostname and alias put www.google.com, www.google.de, www.google.com.ar etc... all google domains you want -

It is working for me with Business. Out of curiosity, if you are using Community, do you have the switch for Safe Search in your Gateway Management console (Gateway Management > Rule Sets > Block the Bad > Safer Search Engines).
I went for Business as because Clearcenter gave it to me so I could support it. -

Nick,
sure!
Just activate safe search and open up google.com or bing.com. Then seach for a random word and google should show a "safe search active" on the right upper corner.
If it doesnt work one can activate and deactive this mode manually (...which the kids should obviously not be able to do)
Thanks!!
By the way: why did you go for the pro version?
