Hi

It seems like ClearOS is near perfect for me then the update 6.2.1 arrives with some things iv'e been waiting for like hostapd and one extra big plus lcdproc what is more than i asked for.

But i still have ideas on how to make it even better :)
I don't know if this is possible i guess you are limited to syntaxes from ipchains.

1)
My idea is like follows, if multiwan is active with 2 or more Wan it would create an extra kolumn under the settings for "Incoming Firewall" & "Port Forwarding" for the "Wan IP Adress"
This Field is a popup field what allows you to choose between all active Wan.
Example you have 2 Wan. This will allow you to choose in the popup between these 2 & "All Wan". "All Wan" = rule applied to both Wan.

|
Nickname Wan IP Adress Protocoll From Port To Port IP-Adress |
________________________________________________________________|
FTPES |80.80.80.80| TCP 2121 21 XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX|
______________|81.81.81.81|________________________________________|
|All Wan |
------------------

I tried to draw a popupfield above (hope it's possible to understand my idea).

I think this would make it both easier to make rules for 2 external connections and gives better controll.

2)

Another idea is to simplify the activation of DLNA or multicast via th webconfig.

Webconfig: "Network/IP settings" "Edit" Chosen interface.New Popup button underthe popupbuttons labeled: "Role" "Connection Type" over the "IP-Adress"

Interface eth1
___________
Role |LAN |
-------------------
Connection Type |Static |
-------------------- [route add -net 224.0.0.0 netmask 240.0.0.0 dev eth1]
DLNA Shared Interface |Enabled |
|Disabled | [route del -net 224.0.0.0 netmask 240.0.0.0 dev eth1]
--------------------
IP Adress |192.168.0.1 |
---------------------
Netmask |255.255.255.0|
---------------------

To make more interface able to join multicast do the same thing on every interface of choise.

    Thanx for your reply Nick!

I have the module installed but i haven't looked at it yet.
I will have a look at it and learn how it works.

I'm waiting for the hostapd for wlan to work in v 6.2.1 so i decided to experiment until when and then reinstall to get rid of the mess and do every setting i found out as i play correct.
