Hi,
I'm trying to setup clearOS on a Desktop machine to be used as opensource software firewall. I have installed clearos in gateway mode with DHCP enabled. enp2s0 is configured as EXTERNAL (ISP) interface whereas enp3s0 is configured as LAN. The problem is that its not releasing DHCP on machines connected to clearos despite of the fact the DHCP is enabled.
ClearOS ip is 192.168.1.3 . If I manually add IP (for ex) 192.168.1.18 on machine with gateway as 192.168.1.3, It gets connected t network and Internet also starts working. But clearOS is not able to release IPs to machines.
Can anyone help with with its configuration ?

Make sure that the scope is valid. You can also try deleting the scope and re-adding it for that interface.
Also, try and plug directly into the ethernet with a cross over cable and bypassing your switch to validate that broadcasts can work between a workstation and the server. DHCP requests and offers are listed in the messages log file, you can watch the requests by doing this from command line:
tail -f /var/log/messages
If your network has a loop it it, it could be doing a broadcast storm. If this is happening, you will see a lot of traffic everytime you do a dhcp request and may or may not get an address.
Network Loop = Bad
