I have installed clearOS on my PC and configured it in Gateway mode. it is working fine as a PC router but i cant access the Marketplace, because when I access it from another PC through webconfig and run the installation wizard, then up-till Software Updates, every thing works fine. However, when it comes to System Registration, then it gives this error, “Connection failed: SSL connect error”. Any help please?

SSL connection errors occur when you are trying to connect to an SSL-enabled website and your browser (client) is unable to make a secure connection to the website's server. Any mismatch in the certificates causes SSL Connection Error in the browser. Check the following :

    Check System Date and Time
    Disable Antivirus SSL Connection
    Clear Cookies and Cached Files
    Reset Chrome Browser
    Open Chrome in Incognito Mode
    Expired SSL Certificates
    Update Chrome Browser

No problem. One further thing; after doing 'yum update', do 'yum upgrade' just to be sure.

Sorry; ok, the ISOs have been around for a while (assuming we're talking about 6.5?) and there have been a considerable number of updates in the meantime - not least a fix for the well-reported issues with OpenSSL vunerability back in June. The number of updates has previously caused registration issues (you can read all about them is a number of threads) - and it's my guess that it's this that's causing you the problem.

What I'd suggest is to NOT attempt the registration UNTIL you've run a yum update for these reasons. Don't attempt to use the web interface until you've done that. What you need to do is to access the CLI (using your root/<password> combination) at the console level and run 'yum update' - that will update your basic installation with the current databases. You'll obviously need to make sure that the WAN ethernet interface is setup correctly. Once you've done that, you can use the web interface as normal and the registration process should go through.

If it still fails, you may need to start from scratch and do the update before registering and before installing any modules.

FWIW, I, and a number of others, noticed a registration failure shortly after the SSL updates went through and only cleared following a reboot.

    Does that make sense?

Brother i didnt get you. i try to explain it again. i installed clearOS on a PIC (which i intend to make my router) from an ISO file downloded from internet. then configured that PC in Gateway mode in which it is working fine. now as i want to install networks apps on it. so when i accessed it from another PC through web interface, and ran the installation wtizard, it gave me the above error in System Registration. I was able to install the updates though. Now you want me to access the system throgh CLI? plz forgive me for not being much expert

My guess it's possibly connected to the age of the installation ISO (which can cause problems as mentioned elsewhere). Try connecting to the console (command line level), doing a yum update/upgrade and then trying the registration.
