Hi Dave,
I've done a UEFI installation on my Microserver and a classic BIOS installation on my old server from an SD card made using Rufus. Broadly speaking the both went the same except the the initial menu on the Microserver came up in black and white.
Both installations were successful but I have a few observations:
- Both gave you the option to install on the SD card. This would be suicide as it contains the source files. 7.3 did not do that.
- When the installation starts, the screen goes black as files are copied to the target disk or read into memory. It would be nice if there could be an activity indicator to show the system has not frozen as the screen can be black for a while.
- When you get to the end of the initial installation and you are prompted to reboot, if you remove the SD card before hitting Reboot, the set up freezes. It would be nice to be able to remove the installation media at that point rather than timing the removal during the reboot.
- When you get to the reboot step I did not notice any message to remove the installation media.
- You used to have to press "Done" twice to accept a weak password. This is no longer the case.
- Both gave you the option to install on the SD card. This would be suicide as it contains the source files. 7.3 did not do that.
