I have a query about the lifespan for COS 6, according to this page the end-of-life for the Community Edition is September 2017.

https://www.clearos.com/resources/documentation/clearos/content:en_us:announcements_releases_clearos_end_of_life

However I have noticed on one of my COS 6.9 servers it states the end-of-life is March 2018.

Which one is correct? Will ClearOS 6 continue to receive updates until March 2018 if it is upgraded to ClearOS 6.9?

Many thanks.

After a bit of internal discussion, it has been decided that EOL for 6.x will be 1 Sep 2019. EOL for 7.x will be 1 Mar 2022.

The reasoning goes something like this:
12-18 (ish) months after the previous release.
Dates are loosely based on RHEL dates.
We like to have an overlap between the current release and two releases prior so that the customers can skip a generation if they want to.

The update that will get your servers reporting the new and improved date should already be in effect.

Worth adding to this, the end-of-life stated in the link above for ClearOS 7 Community is March 2019.

On the ClearOS interface under System / Settings / System Registration the end-of-life is stated as September 2019.

Does anyone know how the end-of-life policy is determined? Is it possible these will be extended further based on further upstream developments from RHEL for example?
