Our ClearOS server is very important to us. In addition to the ClearOS apps, it runs two pieces of third-party software which would be a lot of work to reinstall.
According to our ClearCenter page, ClearOS 6 goes EOL in less than two years (9/1/19).
I'm sure it must be documented somewhere, can someone point me to whether it's possible/recommended and the procedure for upgrade-in-place of a ClearOS 6 machine to ClearOS 7?
It is ClearOS Professional Edition and 64-bit, and we would go to ClearOS Business.
Maybe a second question is whether it's possible to purchase support for this specific procedure?

I'm afraid it does not surprise me. I just was not sure if they had some tricks up their sleeves which I hadn't heard about.
If you do a config restore, have a quick check to see if any of the old interfaces get left in the restored /etc/clearos/network.conf and remove them. The same goes for the firewall and more generally elsewhere (smb.conf?). I did mine 15 months a go and hit a few minor issues. I don't know if they have coded them out now from the restore. -

I don't think it is possible to do an in-situ upgrade from 6 to 7. You can do a config backup in 6 and restore it to 7 but you would still need to sort out getting all your data across. A good tool for data is rsync as it can run incrementally. For e-mails imapsync is good, again as it can run incrementally, but you do need the users' passwords.
It may be worth sending an e-mail to support@clearcenter.com to see what support they can supply.
