I can't find any useful information on it. Normally you can search for strings like "b560 centos", "b560 el7" and so on but I am not getting any sensible hits. Note that ClearOS is compatible with the Elrepo kernels and they are bleedin' edge so at least they should work. The issue may then be how to install ClearOS in the first place to be able to update the kernel. Also the current installation disk for ClearOS is 7.7. We have not yet produced one for 7.9.

So, if I buy the new B560 motherboard it could happen, that I won't be able to install ClearOS?

Yes it is possible. What is the exact m/b? You could try googling that instead.
I tried building the 7.9 iso this morning but hit a couple of glitches so I don't know when it will be out. I've had to ask the Clearcenter team for help. Note that a 7.9 iso is not necessarily the panacea.

I only found this on Linux in the manual:

Note I've never stated whether 7.7 or 7.9 support the B560 chip. I don't know and I can't find any sensible links. Almost certainly 7.9 would work if you could install an ElRepo kernel into it. It may work with the stock kernel. The issue would be getting you to an installation with the ElRepo kernel. It may mean loading ClearOS onto another machine then transplanting the disk, or it may work out of the box.

On more thing. The ASRock B560 Steel Legend and the Gigabyte B560M AORUS ELITE both have 2.5 Gbit Realtek LAN.

No you don't understand correctly.
If you install 7.7 in another machine then transplant the disk immediately, it is the same as installing on the B560.
If you install 7.7 on another machine then perform a full update, it will update itself to 7.9. It may work on the B560.
If you install 7.7 on another machine then install an Elrepo Kernel then transfer the disk to the B560, it will then have the latest available kernel and, from that perspective, should work but there are other issues that could go wrong with transferring a disk, and it is essential that you boot from either BIOS or UEFI on both machined and not one on one and the other on the other.

Without knowing the PCI IDS or the NIC type, I can't say if ClearOS has the drivers. If it needs the r8125 driver you will need to get it from Elrepo again. Once you have ClearOS installed "lspci -knn | grep Eth -A 3" should identify it.

I can't advise on the B560. It could be an expensive mistake or it could be fine.

With respect to the iso, I am working on it but we are struggling with a space issue.

There is now a beta 7.9 iso but I don't know how to make it available for the moment.

If it does not currently support a B560, I have no idea if it will come. That is completely up to Redhat as we use their kernel.

Different strain of Linux, but there are some ideas there. If the installer won't run because of graphics issues, you could try it in text mode - see the documentation here. They also suggested a later kernel. You don't quite have that option, but you can use the kernel-ml packages from ElRepo, but only if the supplied kernel has problems.

After about 1.5 months of waiting for the motherboard that I wanted to arrive to my country I finally Installed ClearOS 7.9.1 on the B560 chipset with 11th gen Intel CPU.
But, I have an issue. After booting it always says "Starting API System...." Is this some king of bug? Or is this because of the new chipset? Or not supported GPU drivers?
I can access ClearOS via the webconfig.

I honestly don't know what the issue is. It is like it is not starting the initial text menu (which normally has the big red box)? Or is it when you select the Graphical console? There are issues here but I haven't a clue how to troubleshoot.

After the first boot, the system has gone to the "graphical console", where you can edit network interfaces, but after a few seconds it was all black screen and a message that Firefox is not responding. And a few times, the system also crashed... I'm attaching 2 pictures.
But now, it won't go to the "graphical console" anymore, it only says "Starting API System...."

I am aware of the white screen after the first install. I'll be doing an install on Monday so I'll see if there is anything in the logs. Did you install the release iso (7.7) or the RC iso (7.9)

The console, (gconsole) is a cut down version Firefox and it is a bit old and seriously in need of an update, but Firefox has seriously changed since our version of gconsole that it is not a simple case of applying the patches to the later code.

I've no idea about the crashing and I've no idea what graphics drivers ClearOS uses.

Similarly I have no idea about the hang at starting API.

Is there anything in your logs (messages, boot, dmesg and system)? Where you get a crash, if you reboot successfully, you may have to look at the prior dmesg log to see the crash.

Release iso 7.7 didn't work for me. I used 7.9, which you posted in a different thread. The iso that you posted in this thread also didn't work (the marketplace didn't work).

I can now reboot normally, and everything else works, for now Just this Starting API... and no access to graphical part.

Go straight to the logs in /var/log with something like WinSCP. The Webconfig UI is not brilliant for panning through logs.

Don't use ftp as you'll land in the flexshares. Use the SFTP protocol (which connects on the ssh port) and you'll be able to browse the whole filesystem.

I've no idea what to look for. Any errors, what was happening just before the crash and so on.

I found this error in messages: Server kernel: Chrome_~dThread[2167]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f0da660a92d sp 00007f0da3b4fb00 error 6 in libxul.so[7f0da60fb000+57f6000]
and it repeats a few times, but I don't know if this is where the system crashed. It only happened once in the latest 7.9 version and this only at first boot, if I remember correctly.

If it is libxul.so causing the segfault, it is coming from gconsole (not surprising really) and there is nothing that can be done unless we can get a developer to look at upgrading it and this may be a big task.

Not at all similar hardware. I am installing onto an HP ML110 and NVMe as a quick test of the NVMe which won't work in my PCIe x16 slot of my production server. I know from other reports there is often a white screen on a first install which goes after reboot, and I'd like to see if I can find anything. If anything untowards happens, I can have a look.

So, if I understand it right, unless ClearOS buys a B560 motherboard with 11th gen Intel CPU and test it for themself to see what's wrong, an update for this will not come?

Even then an update probably won't come. We do not produce kernels. We just use the upstream kernel from Centos untouched. I believe they use the RedHat kernel untouched as well.
For any other issue there is a lack of developer resource.

It may be possible to bring gconsole up to the firefox-68 level if the patches at v61 apply cleanly to v68. I could have a look at that sometime. If they don't apply cleanly then I don't think I can do anything. After Ff-68 there were huge changes to the code. I think XUL was removed and the patches certainly don't work. I have tried in the past. I know in ClearOS we also have to block later updates to Ff as they are incompatible with gconsole based on Ff 61.

Did you have a look at any of the logs during all this to determine if any errors were showing themselves?

My installation on an HP ML110 with an NVME worked fine once I'd deleted the NTFS partition on the disk (the installer wouldn't touch it). The initial console came up fine as it did subsequently, so I had nothing to troubleshoot.

There are also more of this Chrome error.

You may be able to turn ACPI offby adding acpi=off to the grub2 boot line. Test during a live boot by adding it to the boot line. If it works, you will have to add it to grub2.conf.

Ignore svClient. It is a ClearOS thing.

libxul.so errors are Firefox/gconsole.
