Dear all,

I've got a homeserver with ClearOS Home subscription. As understood from other poster, ClearOS is yet focusing on his paid customer in regards of support. I was just wondering at which speed that we should receive update  from the different components, especially the one related to the security.

For example, the last update from my ClearOS system is the following:

Antimalware signature: 05/09/2022

Content filter blacklists: 16/08/2022

IDS Signature: 21/03/20022

Software update: none since at least 3 weeks  except antispam and antimalware update.

Antimalware seems to be updated every day but I have no clue about the frequency of update of the others components!

Do someone know if we should have received more recent update. If yes, when we can expect them to be rollout! (I saw an email about issues with one of the provider before the summer, but the issue should have been resolve since then, itsn't?)

Thanks and Kind regards,

V.

    Hello Valery,
Basically you can find the answer in this post:

    https://www.clearos.com/clearfoundation/social/community/is-clearos-still-under-active-development

Not only the signatures are out-of-date, also the apps are way out of date for a long time

Attached is a screenshot of my ClearOS software updates taken today. Newest thing is on 20th July 22.
A normal Linux distro usually gets things every week but it's always been slower than that on ClearOS. However 19th September is two months.

16 more updates today to my CentOS 7 system, many applicable to ClearOS 7. This is now the 4th batch of updates that ClearOS management have ignored. Shame on them.

If you haven't already moved to a currenly support firewall, then do so now asap. ClearOS is increasingly becoming insecure. CentOS has been in 'maintenance' mode for some time now so most, if not all, of the updates are security related.

Both subscription systems I manage have been like this for 2 weeks. Will this be fixed, or should we abandon this distro?

I think you have some stuck yum processes, since I had the same problem

    ps aux | grep yum

    killall yum
    killall yum-config-manager

If you are following this forum you would have noticed that there is no support any more.
