This might sound silly, but do you have a standard keyboard you can plug in, in case the installer does not come with the right drivers for a laptop keyboard function keys?

Otherwise this is getting really difficult. The next stage would be to try to identify ClearOS's IP address from your DHCP server (router?) logs. Are you able to see it getting a lease in your DHCP server logs? If so, use that IP address.

The console keys should work. Try the full set of them from F1-F7. Ctrl+Alt lets you issue keys from graphical interfaces and they work with the console interfaces as well.

You should be able to get to the command line with an alt+f3 or ctl+alt+f3. Firefox is the "gconsole" process, but I don't think you can do anything about it. Probably the best thing to do is to find your IP address with:
    ifconfig
    or
    ifconfig | grep ^e -A 1
You are looking for an interface with a name beginning with an e (typically enp or eno). On the line below you should see your ip address in the "inet" field. From another PC browse to https://clearos_ip_address:81 and complete your set up from there.

When does the error pop up? Is this after the first stage of the installation and the first reboot or some earlier or later stage.

    How old is the laptop?

Where did you get to on the install? Have you seen the page attached? If so, can you just browse to the link shown (yours may vary) and remember to use https and not http and port 81.
