Hello,
I have a 1000/1000 Fiber connection at home.
I have a problem when i Download and Upload at full speed at the same time from my server or desktop.
On both machines I use SSD's with Windows 8.1 Pro (Windows 7 Ultra same results)
When i use 1 PC (server) for download and upload at max speed:
My Upload goes to 1000
My Download collapses to max 300 Mbit
CPU usage max 30%
When I use 2 PC's:
Server for Download 900> Mbit
Desktop for Upload 1000 Mbit
at the same time!!!
CPU usage max 30%
When I use only my desktop:
I get exact the same results as when i use my Server!
CPU usage max 30%
I have test it with a Linux live CD same results.
I have test it with Intel Teaming, it will be a little better, but not much!
I have tested these cards in my server:
Intel Gigabit CT EXPI9301CT
Intel 82579V Gigabit
Realtek GBE < poor slow controller
My Desktop:
Intel I218-V
Different cables CAT6+
Desktop direct connected without a router (same results).
My ClearOS PC:
Version ClearOS Community release 6.6.0 Beta (Beta 2)
Kernel Version 2.6.32-431.23.3.v6.x86_64
CPU Model Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz
Memory Size 7.36 GB
Does ClearOS 6.6.0 support 10 GBE Network cards (10000 Mbit)?
So i can create a direct 10 Gigabit link from ClearOS to my Server.
Thank you in advance,
Michael

If the Realtek is an RTL8111/8168 card it needs different drivers (r8168) from the built in one (r8169) to work anywhere near reasonably. Similarly there are later e1000e (EXPI9301CT, I218-V and 82579V) drivers. I have the 64-bit ones compiled for ClearOS here.
For 10Gb cards, I would have thought with a fast processor ClearOS would support them. You would need to check which drivers they take and possibly update to the latest. I prefer kmod drivers as they do not need recompiling every time there is a minor kernel upgrade, but they sometimes lag the official release a bit (e.g. the igb driver was updated a few weeks ago by Intel, but I am still waiting for the kmod driver to follow).
